Welcome to the Leverton family blog. We are a family of six and hope to utilize this blog to share some of our thoughts and musings. We'll also try to post some pictures of the kids as well as our projects from time to time. I work as a carpenter/woodworker and also serve as an elder in a small Baptist church. Besides obviously enjoying my family and the Christian faith, I also enjoy reading, working with wood, and observing the weather.

Here is wishing a belated but genuine happy birthday to the little one. If we had know her birthday was coming up, we might have had a bit of a pre-birthday party while you all were here.

Have you ever studied the history of Holland and how it was founded? It's a great story of agrarian pioneering and community by the Dutch Reformed in the mid 1800s. Albertus Van Raalte, a persecuted pastor in Holland, led a small group from his flock to Michigan and through severe trials established what we know today as Holland. There are a couple of excellent books on it:
